Another End of the World Prophecy

Camping lets out a hearty chuckle when he considers the people who believe the world will end in 2012.

"That date has not one stitch of biblical authority," Camping says from the Oakland office where he runs Family Radio, an evangelical station that reaches listeners around the world. "It's like a fairy tale."

The real date for the end of times, he says, is in 2011.

The Mayans and the recent Hollywood movie "2012" have put the apocalypse in the popular mind this year, but Camping has been at this business for a long time. And while Armageddon is pop science or big-screen entertainment to many, Camping has followers from the Bay Area to China.

Camping, 88, has scrutinized the Bible for almost 70 years and says he has developed a mathematical system to interpret prophecies hidden within the Good Book. One night a few years ago, Camping, a civil engineer by trade, crunched the numbers and was stunned at what he'd found: The world will end May 21, 2011.

This is not the first time Camping has made a bold prediction about Judgment Day.

On Sept. 6, 1994, dozens of Camping's believers gathered inside Alameda's Veterans Memorial Building to await the return of Christ, an event Camping had promised for two years. Followers dressed children in their Sunday best and held Bibles open-faced toward heaven.

But the world did not end. Camping allowed that he may have made a mathematical error. He spent the next decade running new calculations, as well as overseeing a media company that has grown significantly in size and reach.

"We are now translated into 48 languages and have been transmitting into China on an AM station without getting jammed once," Camping said. "How can that happen without God's mercy?"

His office is flanked by satellite dishes in the parking lot that transmit his talk show, "Open Forum." In the Bay Area, he's heard on 610 AM, KEAR. Camping says his company owns about 55 stations in the United States alone, and that his message arrives on every continent.
'I'm looking forward to it'

Employees at the Oakland office run printing presses that publish Camping's pamphlets and books, and some wear T-shirts that read, "May 21, 2011." They're happy to talk about the day they believe their souls will be retrieved by Christ.

"I'm looking forward to it," said Ted Solomon, 60, who started listening to Camping in 1997. He's worked at Family Radio since 2004, making sure international translators properly dictate Camping's sermons.

"This world may have had an attraction to me at one time," Solomon said. "But now it's definitely lost its appeal."

Camping is a frail-looking man, and his voice is low and deep, but it can rise to dramatic peaks with a preacher's flair.

As a young man, he owned an East Bay construction business but longed to work as a servant of God. So he hit the books.

"Because I was an engineer, I was very interested in the numbers," he said. "I'd wonder, 'Why did God put this number in, or that number in?' It was not a question of unbelief, it was a question of, 'There must be a reason for it.' "
Code-breaking phenomenon

Camping is not the only man to see truths in the Bible hidden in the numbers. In the late 1990s, a code-breaking phenomenon took off, led by "The Bible Code," written by former Washington Post journalist Michael Drosnin.

Drosnin developed a technique that revealed prophecies within the Bible's text. A handful of biblical scholars have supported Drosnin's theory, lending it an air of legitimacy, and just as many scholars have decried it as farce.

One of Drosnin's more well-known findings is that a meteor will strike Earth in

2012, the same year some people believe the Mayan calendar marks the end of times, and the same year the "2012" action movie surmised the Earth's crust will destabilize and kill most humans.

There is more to this than meets the eye if scientists are worried then so should we ,The world is overdue a ferocious 'space storm' that could knock out communications satellites, ground aircraft and trigger blackouts - causing hundreds of billions of pounds of damage, scientists say.
Astronomers today warned that mankind is now more vulnerable to a major solar storm than at any time in history - and that the planet should prepare for a global Katrina-style disaster.

A massive eruption of the sun would save waves of radiation and charged particles to Earth, damaging the satellite systems used for synchronising computers, airline navigation and phone networks.If the storm is powerful enough it could even crash stock markets and cause power cuts that last weeks or months, experts told the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

The chances of a disruption from space are getting stronger because the sun is entering the most active period of its 11 to 12-year natural cycle.

The world got a taster of the sun's explosive power last week when the strongest solar eruption in five years sent a torrent of charged plasma hurtling towards the world at 580 miles per second
The storm created spectacular aurorae and disrupted radio communications.

Professor Sir John Beddington, the government's chief scientific adviser, said: 'The issue of space weather has got to be taken seriously. We've had a relatively quiet period of space weather - but we can't expect that quiet period to continue.

'At the same time over that period the potential vulnerability of our systems has increased dramatically, whether it is the smart grid in our electricity systems or the ubiquitous use of GPS in just about everything we use these days.
'The situation has changed. We need to be thinking about the ability both to categorise and explain and give early warning when particular types of space weather are likely to occur.'Solar storms are caused by massive explosions on the sun.

The explosions release waves of X-rays and ultraviolet radiation which smash into the Earth within minutes, disrupting radio signals and damaging the electronics of satellites.

They are followed ten to 20 minutes later by a burst of energetic particles which cause even more havoc with satellites - and then 15 to 30 hours later by supercharged plasma which collides with Earth's magnetic field.

The plasma create the aurora - or Northern Lights - and can induce electrical currents in power lines and cables.

Jane Lubchenco, head of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, said: 'This is not a matter of if, it is simply a matter of when and how big.
'The last time we had a maximum in the solar cycle, about 10 years ago, the world was a very different place. Cell phones are now ubiquitous; they were certainly around but we didn't rely on them for so many different things.

'Many things that we take for granted today are so much more prone to the process of space weather than was the case in the last solar maximum.'

The sun goes through a regular activity cycle about 11 years long on average. The last solar maximum occurred in 2001. Its latest minimum was particularly weak and long lasting.

Space storms are not new. The first major solar flare was recorded by British astronomer Richard Carrington in 1859.

Other solar geomagnetic storms have been observed in recent decades. One huge solar flare in 1972 cut off long-distance telephone communication in the mid-western state of Illinois, Nasa said.
Another similar flare in 1989 'provoked geomagnetic storms that disrupted electric power transmission' and caused blackouts across the Canadian province of Quebec, the U.S. space agency said.

Its radiation is expected to reach Earth today and Friday and perhaps interfere with communication systems, power grids and navigation satellites. The rain of charged particles from the so-called coronal mass ejections, or CMEs, should also enhance the northern lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, making them both more prominent and visible farther south, perhaps even into the northern tier of the United States, experts said.

The solar flare, which erupted Monday, occurs when magnetic field lines on the sun's surface in effect get short-circuited, releasing large amounts of energy into space. Three such events occurred Monday, the largest of them a so-called class X event — the most powerful form of solar flare. Astronomers have been expecting the sun to ramp up its activity after several years of quiescence during its normal 11-year cycle of activity. Maximum solar activity is expected in 2013.

Kilauea volcano (Hawai'i)

It's an exciting time on Kilauea, with high magma pressure forcing lava to the surface in four locations: the Overlook Vent in Halema`uma`u (within 90m of lowest rim, causing intense night-time glow visible from a distance), within Pu`u `O`o crater, from the TEB vent and satellitic ponds, and at the flow-front in Kalapana, where active lava is typically present and legally accessible to our clients. This excess pressure has also caused many earthquakes in the upper east rift zone, the rising of the Halema`uma`u lava lake, and a collapse of the pyroducts carrying lava to the ocean.

Bromo volcano (East Java, Indonesia)

The VAAC Darwin reports an ash plume from Bromo's eruption rising to 26,000 ft (ca 9 km) drifting 90 nm NW reaching Surabaya. A low-level plume at 10,000 ft (ca. 3 km) is drifting 20 nm SE.10h24 AM | Age: 4 days
Mild explosive activity continues at Bromo volcano, with a sustained plume of ash reaching 400-800 m above the crater and incandescent material visible at night, according to local news sources.
CVGHM reported about the strong activity on 5 February that volcanic bombs were ejected to up to 1.2-1.4 km distance, and up to 500 m distance in the following days. Roaring and booming noises were noted. Ash fell at the Bromo observation post, and in nearby villages including Ngadirejo (10 km WNW), Sukapura (14 km NE), and Sumber (18 km E).
Residents and tourists were not permitted within a 2-km-radius of the active crater.

Bárdarbunga volcano (Iceland)
Another Icelandic volcano might be preparing itself for a new eruption. Bárdarbunga, a large central volcano at the NW end of the massive Vatnajökull ice cap, has recently shown increased seismic activity, the Icelandic Met Office is reported in an article of the Telegraph. These could be precursors to new activity. After all, Bárdarbunga is one of Iceland's most active volcanoes and is located quite on the center of the Icelandic hot spot. Its last eruption was in 1902-03.
Besides ash clouds, a main hazard would be jökulhlaups (glacier floods) likely to occur with a next eruption of Bárdarbunga.

This is getting to biblical preportions and a sure sign of polar reversal or in other words POLESHIFT , there is no records of this phenominal act but the bible did have the floods and noahs arc which was associated with polar reversal.

FUEGO Guatemala

during 2-3 February Fuego produced 27 explosions with ash plumes that rose 300-500 m above the crater and drifted 7 km W and SW. The explosions generated shock waves detected as far away as 5 km W and SW, in Sangre de Cristo, Panimache I and II, and Morelia. Block avalanches descended the Santa Teresa, Taniluyá, Cenizas, and Trinidad drainages to the SW. During 6-8 February explosions produced ash plumes that rose 500 m above the crater and drifted W and SW. At night incandescence was observed emanating from the crater and explosions sometimes ejected incandescent material 100 m above the crater rim.

KIRISHIMA Kyushu

According to a news article, explosions on 2 February from Shinmoe-dake (Shinmoe peak), a stratovolcano of the Kirishima volcano group, disrupted flights to Tokyo. The article also noted that JMA widened the restricted zone to a 4-km-radius around the crater. About 600 people from Miyazaki (55 km E) had evacuated.

Based on reports from JMA, analyses of satellite imagery, and pilot observations, the Tokyo VAAC reported that during 2-8 February ash plumes rose to altitudes of 1.5-4.6 km (5,000-15,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted SE. On 3 February, a pilot noted that an ash plume rose to an altitude of 9.1 km (30,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted NE.

According to JMA, scientists observed Shinmoe-dake during an overflight on 6 February and noted that the lava dome was about 600 m in diameter, similar to observations from four days prior. Gas plumes rose from the edges of the lava dome, from multiple areas on the E side of the dome, and from a central vent. Ash plumes rose 1.5 km above the crater rim and drifted SE.

Geologic Summary. Kirishima is a large group of more than 20 Quaternary volcanoes located north of Kagoshima Bay. The late-Pleistocene to Holocene volcano group consists of stratovolcanoes, pyroclastic cones, maars, and underlying shield volcanoes located over an area of 20 x 30 km. The larger stratovolcanoes are scattered throughout the field, with the centrally located, 1,700-m-high Karakuni-dake being the highest. Onami-ike and Mi-ike, the two largest maars, are located SW of Karakuni-dake and at its far eastern end, respectively. Holocene eruptions have been concentrated along an E-W line of vents from Mi-ike to Ohachi, and at Shinmoe-dake to the NE. Frequent small-to-moderate explosive eruptions have been recorded since the 8th century.

1990: As one Eastern European country after another (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania) frees itself from Soviet control, Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev refuses to intervene, halting the ideological battle for Europe and significantly diminishing the risk of all-out nuclear war. In late 1989, the Berlin Wall falls, symbolically ending the Cold War. "Forty-four years after Winston Churchill's 'Iron Curtain' speech, the myth of monolithic communism has been shattered for all to see," the Bulletin proclaims.

1988: The United States and Soviet Union sign the historic Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, the first agreement to actually ban a whole category of nuclear weapons. The leadership shown by President Ronald Reagan and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev makes the treaty a reality, but public opposition to U.S. nuclear weapons in Western Europe inspires it. For years, such intermediate-range missiles had kept Western Europe in the crosshairs of the two superpowers.

IT IS 3 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT
1984: U.S.-Soviet relations reach their iciest point in decades. Dialogue between the two superpowers virtually stops. "Every channel of communications has been constricted or shut down; every form of contact has been attenuated or cut off. And arms control negotiations have been reduced to a species of propaganda," a concerned Bulletin informs readers. The United States seems to flout the few arms control agreements in place by seeking an expansive, space-based anti-ballistic missile capability, raising worries that a new arms race will begin.

1981: The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan hardens the U.S. nuclear posture. Before he leaves office, President Jimmy Carter pulls the United States from the Olympics Games in Moscow and considers ways in which the United States could win a nuclear war. The rhetoric only intensifies with the election of Ronald Reagan as president. Reagan scraps any talk of arms control and proposes that the best way to end the Cold War is for the United States to win it.

1980: Thirty-five years after the start of the nuclear age and after some promising disarmament gains, the United States and the Soviet Union still view nuclear weapons as an integral component of their national security. This stalled progress discourages the Bulletin: "[The Soviet Union and United States have] been behaving like what may best be described as 'nucleoholics'--drunks who continue to insist that the drink being consumed is positively 'the last one,' but who can always find a good excuse for 'just one more round.'"

1974: South Asia gets the Bomb, as India tests its first nuclear device. And any gains in previous arms control agreements seem like a mirage. The United States and Soviet Union appear to be modernizing their nuclear forces, not reducing them. Thanks to the deployment of multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRV), both countries can now load their intercontinental ballistic missiles with more nuclear warheads than before.

1972: The United States and Soviet Union attempt to curb the race for nuclear superiority by signing the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) and the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty. The two treaties force a nuclear parity of sorts. SALT limits the number of ballistic missile launchers either country can possess, and the ABM Treaty stops an arms race in defensive weaponry from developing.

1969: Nearly all of the world's nations come together to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The nuclear weapon states also pledge to abolish their own arsenals when political conditions allow for it. Although Israel, India, and Pakistan refuse to sign the treaty, the Bulletin is cautiously optimistic: "The great powers have made the first step. They must proceed without delay to the next one--the dismantling, gradually, of their own oversized military establishments."

1968: Regional wars rage. U.S. involvement in Vietnam intensifies, India and Pakistan battle in 1965, and Israel and its Arab neighbors renew hostilities in 1967. Worse yet, France and China develop nuclear weapons to assert themselves as global players. "There is little reason to feel sanguine about the future of our society on the world scale," the Bulletin laments. "There is a mass revulsion against war, yes; but no sign of conscious intellectual leadership in a rebellion against the deadly heritage of international anarchy."

1963: After a decade of almost non-stop nuclear tests, the United States and Soviet Union sign the Partial Test Ban Treaty, which ends all atmospheric nuclear testing. While it does not outlaw underground testing, the treaty represents progress in at least slowing the arms race. It also signals awareness among the Soviets and United States that they need to work together to prevent nuclear annihilation.

1960: Political actions belie the tough talk of "massive retaliation." For the first time, the United States and Soviet Union appear eager to avoid direct confrontation in regional conflicts such as the 1956 Egyptian-Israeli dispute. Joint projects that build trust and constructive dialogue between third parties also quell diplomatic hostilities. Scientists initiate many of these measures, helping establish the International Geophysical Year, a series of coordinated, worldwide scientific observations, and the Pugwash Conferences, which allow Soviet and American scientists to interact.

1953: After much debate, the United States decides to pursue the hydrogen bomb, a weapon far more powerful than any atomic bomb. In October 1952, the United States tests its first thermonuclear device, obliterating a Pacific Ocean islet in the process; nine months later, the Soviets test an H-bomb of their own. "The hands of the Clock of Doom have moved again," the Bulletin announces. "Only a few more swings of the pendulum, and, from Moscow to Chicago, atomic explosions will strike midnight for Western civilization."

1949: The Soviet Union denies it, but in the fall, President Harry Truman tells the American public that the Soviets tested their first nuclear device, officially starting the arms race. "We do not advise Americans that doomsday is near and that they can expect atomic bombs to start falling on their heads a month or year from now," the Bulletin explains. "But we think they have reason to be deeply alarmed and to be prepared for grave decisions."

Scotland Has A Supervolcano

This is what a professor from the volcanic research committee has to say .

Professor Tom Plume PhD (51) of the EU Volcanic Research Committee has warned that the famous fault-line, known as the Great Glen, may be about to rip apart as a result of a Super Volcano, which has lain dormant for millions of years.


Fist sized plankton"Loch Ness lies on the Great Glen fault-line and its incredible depth (over 2km) has severely hampered our research project", said Professor Plume. Unlike some other projects, we need to be able to see right down through the earth's crust, but until recently, we have been restricted to dry land. Fortunately new developments with satellite laser topography sonar side-scanning techniques have enabled us to penetrate through the thick sludge that lies up to 400m thick at the loch's bottom. What we found shocked us: nematode worms and zooplankton the size of a human fist that seem to be feeding on thermal vents."


Ironically it was the discovery of the sulphur-feeding creatures that prompted Professor Plume to hire a special robot submarine capable of dropping through a thermal vent and searching beyond. "We found a very active thermal rupture in the sub-base of the loch", said Professor Plume, "further sonar probing showed large lava-filled caverns and pressure readings suggest that a major volcanic event may be about to occur. Tremors have been felt recently in parts of the Highlands of Scotland and it is understood that small seismic shocks often precipitate a major or catastrophic eartchquake or volcanic eruption."


For now, however, this fascinating Loch Ness research project continues to probe its bottom. Professor Plume cautiously suggests that Nessie may have managed to survive the ice age by swimming around the warm volcanic vents and feeding on the monster sized sulphur feeding worms and plankton. The volcano may be a relic from the time this area was part of the super-sized continent Pangea.


"It's just a theory", he said, "but our research has shown that Loch Ness still holds some incredible mysteries and there is little sign that they will be solved in the near future."

It's very likely a super-eruption would shutdown airports worldwide.


"A super-eruption is the world's biggest bang", says Prof. Bill McGuire of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at the University of London. "It's a volcanic explosion big enough to dwarf all others and with a reach great enough to affect everyone on the planet".


Considering their destructive potential, it's a good thing super-eruptions are so rare – the last one happened in Toba, Indonesia, about 74,000 years ago. Geologists think these eruptions take place about every 50,000 years, which suggests one is overdue.


About 40 supervolcanoes are dotted across the globe. There are two in Britain – one in Glencoe, Scotland, the other in Scafell in the Lake District. However, most supervolcanoes, including those in Britain, burned out long ago.


Yellowstone, located in the western state, Wyoming, is a dormant supervolcano, which means a major eruption could happen in the future. But before you get worried, it's important to remember that most volcano experts say a Yellowstone super-eruption is probably a long way off, or it may never happen at all.

Although they're called 'super', most people would have trouble spotting a supervolcano. Their main feature is a large magma chamber, which is an underground reservoir filled with flowing, hot rock under huge pressures.

Earth's Magnetic Field Begins to Change (Slowly)

ScienceDaily (Sep. 26, 2008) -- Earth's north magnetic pole is shifting and weakening. Ancient lava flows are guiding a better understanding of what generates and controls the Earth's magnetic field -- and what may drive it to occasionally reverse direction.

The main magnetic field, generated by turbulent currents within the deep mass of molten iron of the Earth's outer core, periodically flips its direction, such that a compass needle would point south rather than north. Such polarity reversals have occurred hundreds of times at irregular intervals throughout the planet's history -- most recently about 780,000 years ago -- but scientists are still trying to understand how and why.

Short of a complete polar reversal (North moving to South) the poles have "wandered" significantly over the last 80,000 years. These changes puzzle scientists because the corresponding changes to the equator should have dramatically effected the Earth's climate. Below are some examples of the equator at verious times in our recent past history.

A new study of ancient volcanic rocks, reported in the Sept. 26 issue of the journal Science, shows that a second magnetic field source may help determine how and whether the main field reverses direction. This second field, which may originate in the shallow core just below the rocky mantle layer of the Earth, becomes important when the main north-south field weakens, as it does prior to reversing, says Brad Singer, a geology professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Singer teamed up with paleomagnetist Kenneth Hoffman, who has been researching field reversals for over 30 years, to analyze ancient lava flows from Tahiti and western Germany in order to study past patterns of the Earth's magnetic field. The magnetism of iron-rich minerals in molten lava orients along the prevailing field, then becomes locked into place as the lava cools and hardens.

According to Singer:

"When the lava flows erupt and cool in the Earth's magnetic field, they acquire a memory of the magnetic field at that time... It's very difficult to destroy that in a lava flow once it's formed. You then have a recording of what the paleofield direction was like on Earth."

Hoffman (California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and UW-Madison), and Singer are focusing on rocks that contain evidence of times that the main north-south field has weakened, which is one sign that the polarity may flip direction. By carefully determining the ages of these lava flows, they have mapped out the shallow core field during multiple "reversal attempts" when the main field has weakened during the past million years.

During those periods of time, weakening of the main field reveals "virtual poles," regions of strong magnetism within the shallow core field. For example, Singer says, "If you were on Tahiti when those eruptions were taking place, your compass needle would point to not the North Pole, not the South Pole, but Australia."

The scientists believe the shallow core field may play a role in determining whether the main field polarity flips while weakened or whether it recovers its strength without reversing. "Mapping this field during transitional states may hold the key to understanding what happens in Earth's core when the field weakens to a point where it can actually reverse," Hoffman says.

Current evidence suggests we are now approaching one of these transitional states because the main magnetic field is relatively weak and rapidly decreasing, he says. While the last polarity reversal occurred several hundred thousand years ago, the next might come within only a few thousand years.

According to Singer:

"Right now, historic records show that the strength of the magnetic field is declining very rapidly. From a quick back-of-the-envelope prediction, in 1,500 years the field will be as weak as it's ever been and we could go into a state of polarity reversal... One broad goal of our research is to provide some predictive capability for what could happen and what could be the signs of the next reversal."

Movement Of Earth's North Magnetic Pole Accelerating Rapidly

After some 400 years of relative stability, Earth's North Magnetic Pole has moved nearly 1,100 kilometers out into the Arctic Ocean during the last century and at its present rate could move from northern Canada to Siberia within the next half-century.

If that happens, Alaska may be in danger of losing one of its most stunning natural phenomena - the Northern Lights.

But the surprisingly rapid movement of the magnetic pole doesn't necessarily mean that our planet is going through a large-scale change that would result in the reversal of the Earth's magnetic field, Oregon State University paleomagnetist Joseph Stoner reported today at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, Calif.

"This may be part of a normal oscillation and it will eventually migrate back toward Canada," said Stoner, an assistant professor in OSU's College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences. "There is a lot of variability in its movement."

Calculations of the North Magnetic Pole's location from historical records goes back only about 400 years, while polar observations trace back to John Ross in 1838 at the west coast of Boothia Peninsula. To track its history beyond that, scientists have to dig into the Earth to look for clues.

Stoner and his colleagues have examined the sediment record from several Arctic lakes. These sediments -- magnetic particles called magnetite -- record the Earth's magnetic field at the time they were deposited. Using carbon dating and other technologies -- including layer counting -- the scientists can determine approximately when the sediments were deposited and track changes in the magnetic field.

The Earth last went through a magnetic reversal some 780,000 years ago. These episodic reversals, in which south becomes north and vice versa, take thousands of years and are the result of complex changes in the Earth's outer core. Liquid iron within the core generates the magnetic field that blankets the planet.

Because of that field, a compass reading of north in Oregon will be approximately 17 degrees east from "true geographic north." In Florida, farther away and more in line with the poles, the declination is only 4-5 degrees west.

The Northern Lights, which are triggered by the sun and fixed in position by the magnetic field, drift with the movement of the North Magnetic Pole and may soon be visible in more southerly parts of Siberia and Europe -- and less so in northern Canada and Alaska.

In their research, funded by the National Science Foundation, Stoner and his colleagues took core samples from several lakes, but focused on Sawtooth Lake and Murray Lake on Ellesmere Island in the Canadian Arctic. These lakes, about 40 to 80 meters deep, are covered by 2-3 meters of ice. The researchers drill through the ice, extend their corer down through the water, and retrieve sediment cores about five meters deep from the bottom of the lakes.

The 5-meter core samples provide sediments deposited up to about 5,000 years ago. Below that is bedrock, scoured clean by ice about 7,000 to 8,000 years ago.

"The conditions there give us nice age control," Stoner said. "One of the problems with tracking the movement of the North Magnetic Pole has been tying the changes in the magnetic field to time. There just hasn't been very good time constraint. But these sediments provide a reliable and reasonably tight timeline, having consistently been laid down at the rate of about one millimeter a year in annual layers.

"We're trying to get the chronology down to a decadal scale or better."

What their research has told Stoner and his colleagues is that the North Magnetic Pole has moved all over the place over the last few thousand years. In general, it moves back and forth between northern Canada and Siberia. But it also can veer sideways.

"There is a lot of variability in the polar motion," Stoner pointed out, "but it isn't something that occurs often. There appears to be a 'jerk' of the magnetic field that takes place every 500 years or so. The bottom line is that geomagnetic changes can be a lot more abrupt than we ever thought."

Shifts in the North Magnetic Pole are of interest beyond the scientific community. Radiation influx is associated with the magnetic field, and charged particles streaming down through the atmosphere can affect airplane flights and telecommunications.

Displacement of EarthÕs magnetic poles may turn planet into giant Hiroshima

The planet's magnetic poles are being displaced. Scientists say that mankind may eventually find itself defenseless against the cosmic radiation, and the Earth will turn into the giant Hiroshima.

The chief scientist of the Central Military Institute for Ground Troops, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Yevgeni Shalamberidze, that that the geographic poles of the planet remain on their previous positions, whereas the magnetic poles have already drifted away 200 kilometers each. This phenomenon affects the processes of global scale.

"The planet relieves its excessive energy into space through crust fractures. When those breakouts close, the negative energy is left on the planet. It is not ruled out that the growing number of catastrophes that rocked the world during the recent years is based on the displacement of the magnetic poles," the scientist said.

Alexander Fefelov, a senior spokesman for the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, said that planet Earth would have its magnetic and geographic poles relocated during the upcoming years.

"Planet Earth on the orbit is a round object in weightlessness. The planet may suddenly change its axial inclination from time to time. It happens once in 23,000 years. The pole displacement angle may reach 30 degrees. The South Pole used to be located in the area of Easter Island before the latest displacement, whereas the North Pole was located in the Himalayas. That is why mammoths, rhinoceroses and saber-toothed tigers used to inhabit Arctic latitudes. It was a very sudden displacement of poles. Archeologists still uncover animals with indigested herbal food in their stomachs, which means that the animals died as a result of fast freezing, so to speak," the scientist said.

The displacement of poles can result in the disappearance of the atmosphere, which in its turn will cool the planet to 273 degrees below zero Centigrade. The biosphere of the planet will virtually be killed in this case; only those located close to the EarthÕs axis will survive the disaster.

Doctor of Physical and Mathematic Sciences, Vladimir Kuznetsov, said that planet Earth had experienced 16 polar displacements in 4 million years. "There is no chance that the EarthÕs magnetic field will disappear. The planet will always have the radiation shield. Even a possible change of the poles will not be able to make the magnetic field vanish. The planet will not be frozen. The geomagnetic field does change, but it is not dangerous. Even if the poles drift hundreds of kilometers away, there will be no threat to humanity posed.How many times have we heard there will be no threats to humanity if there is birds dying all over the world fish lying dead from the seas ,then it will be larger mammals after that us and still while people lie dead or dying we will still hear the same thing while we die in the streets "dont worry humanity will be ok " NO certain members of the elite will be ok that is what will happen.

While scientists maintain there is no link between the events, the unexplained mass deaths of fish and birds across the globe has sparked widespread fear about an impending apocalypse, with chat forums and religious sites bombarded with questions about the "end of days".

Yesterday, there were reports of dead birds near Tyler, Texas in the United States, 40,000 devil crabs washed up dead on the Kent coast in England and thousands of dead fish were found in a freshwater creek in Florida.

New Zealand has been drawn into the web of speculation after the deaths of hundreds of snapper - washed up on Coromandel beaches this week - were matched by similar occurrences in both Brazil and Maryland, in the US.

The Baltimore Sun reported that an estimated 2 million fish were found dead in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay on Tuesday, with both adult and juvenile fish surfacing.

Maryland Department of the Environment spokesperson Dawn Stoltzfus told the Sun "cold-water stress" was believed to be the reason, saying similar mass winter fish deaths were documented in 1976 and 1980.

Meanwhile, ParanaOnline reported that 100 tons of sardines, croaker and catfish had washed up in Brazilian fishing towns since last Thursday. The cause of the deaths was unknown, with an imbalance in the environment, chemical pollution, or accidental release from a fishing boat all suggested by local officials.

Earlier, reports from the US said that, in the days prior to New Year, nearly 100,000 fish surfaced in an Arkansas river 160km west of Beebe.

New Zealand's snapper deaths were not able to be explained by the Department of Conservation. The Ministry of Fisheries, however, is also investigating and blamed it on a mass dumping or a split net.

The fish deaths, while unlikely to create a stir on their own, followed recent reports of dead birds falling from the sky in Arkansas and Louisiana, United States.

Thousands of dead birds were found in Beebe, Arkansas, on New Year's Eve. A few days later, around 500 of the same species were found in Louisiana, 480km south.

A Kentucky woman also reported finding dozens of dead birds scattered around her home, while on Wednesday, officials in Sweden found 50 dead birds on a street.

Louisiana state biologists are trying to determine what led to the deaths of the red-winged blackbirds and starlings, with State Wildlife veterinarian Jim LaCour telling the Daily Mail that lab tests could take several weeks to come up with an explanation.

LaCour refused to speculate on the cause of deaths - though others are blaming cold weather, fireworks and powerlines - but did say mass bird deaths have been known to occur in the state in the past, albeit in smaller numbers.

He said "underlying disease, starvation and cold fronts where birds can't get their body heat up" have caused similar occurrences in various species over the years, the Mail reported.

Here a DOC spokesman said, while it was tempting to link the worldwide events together, each separate incident needed to be looked at individually before links were made.

"It may be a natural phenomenon, it may be due to the weather conditions but we don't know that."

DOC said La Nina weather patterns were expected to cause the deaths of hundreds of sea birds during the summer, as their food sources were depleted, but that scenario could not be linked to the snapper deaths.

It was unlikely a toxin had killed the snapper, as other fish would have also died, he said.

Meanwhile, while scientists work to find the causes, thousands of others are turning to a higher being for the answer to the mysteries, and interpreting the events as a sign from God.

Sites such as GodDiscussion have overflowed with viewers, receiving more than 15,000 hits in 18 hours on the topic, with the search terms "dead birds bible" and "dead birds revelation" still going strong.

Many searchers seek to link the deaths with the final judgment, the apocalypse and the coming of Jesus, GodDiscussion said.

The apocalypse, believed to be proceeded by the opening of seven "seals" and "signs" from God, is commonly thought to mark the end of the world.

However, GodDiscussion said dead birds and fish were not among the signs. More commonly, the signs were interpreted as events such as seas turning to blood, sores on people's bodies, plagues, infertility, world wars and earthquakes.

More Dead Birds In Sweden

AROUND 100 birds have been found lying dead on a snow-covered street in southern Sweden's Falkoping.

The deaths came after a string of unexplained animal deaths hit the US and New Zealand, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported yesterday.

Christer Olofosson, a rescue services worker, said the truck driver claimed he saw about 70 live birds on the road Tuesday, adding, "he ran over the lot of them and did not think it was a big deal, but realised today [Wednesday] that it attracted attention, not only in the Swedish media, but also abroad."


Police told the newspaper the majority of the jackdaws involved were not "physically damaged," which would contradicted the truck driver's account of events.

Horst, who sent the dead birds to Sweden's National Veterinary Institute for analysis, said the driver's theory was "possible," but further examination of the birds was needed before a cause of death could be established.

The Falkoping incident came after a string of unexplained animal deaths in the US and New Zealand.

Some 500 dead birds were found next to a highway northwest of Baton Rouge, La., on Monday, littering a quarter-mile stretch of road. The birds were sent to laboratories for testing, and no cause of death was immediately known.

Similarly, no explanation was reached on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand, where vacationers were shocked when hundreds of dead fish washed ashore

4000 Blackbirds Deaths in Beebe Arkansas

BEEBE, Ark. – Wildlife officials are trying to determine what caused more than 1,000 blackbirds to die and fall from the sky over an Arkansas town.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said Saturday that it began receiving reports about the dead birds about 11:30 p.m. the previous night. The birds fell over a 1-mile area of Beebe, and an aerial survey indicated that no other dead birds were found outside of that area.

Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said the birds showed physical trauma, and she speculated that "the flock could have been hit by lightning or high-altitude hail."

The commission said that New Year's Eve revelers shooting off fireworks in the area could have startled the birds from their roost and caused them to die from stress.

Robby King, a wildlife officer for the agency, collected about 65 dead birds, which will be sent for testing to the state Livestock and Poultry Commission lab and the National Wildlife Health Center lab in Madison, Wis.

Rowe said that similar events have occurred elsewhere and that test results "usually were inconclusive."
The red-winged blackbirds fell on rooftops, pavements and fields. One struck a woman walking her dog, while another hit a police car.

Birds were "littering the streets, the gardens, the driveways, everywhere," said Robby King, a county wildlife officer in Beebe, a community of 5,000 people north-east of the state capital, Little Rock. "It was hard to drive down the street in some places without running over them."

More than 3,000 birds fell to the ground. Scientists said fireworks appeared to have frightened the birds to such a degree that they crashed into homes, cars and each other. Some may have flown straight into the ground.

"The blackbirds were flying at rooftop level instead of treetop level" to avoid explosions above, said Karen Rowe, an ornithologist with the Arkansas Game and Fish commission. "Blackbirds have poor eyesight, and they started colliding with things."

Rowe stopped short of declaring the mystery solved, however, saying that laboratories planned to test bird carcasses for toxins or disease.

Other theories were that violent thunderstorms might have disoriented the flock, or that one bird could have led them all into a fatal plunge to the ground.

A few stunned birds survived the fall, and stumbled around like drunken revellers, according to witnesses. There was little light at the time, except for the fireworks and some lightning on the horizon. In the tumult, many birds probably lost their bearings.

"I turn and look across my yard, and there's all these lumps," said resident Shane Roberts, adding that he thought hail was falling until he saw a dazed blackbird under his truck.
Its now at a point that the world has to take notice too many facts just to be a coincidence ,maybe its time to prepare for the worst scenario.

For the last five days wildlife experts and officers from the forestry commission have picked up more than 1,000 turtle doves as well as other birds including pigeons.

Yesterday alone 300 corpses were recovered with all of them having a blue tinge to their beaks, which scientists say indicates poisoning or hypoxia which is lack of oxygen that can confuse animals.

The incident in the town of Faenza in northern Italy comes after a series of similar cases across the world in the United States and Sweden.

It is not just birds that have been affected, with millions of dead fish also washing up on river banks and coastlines.

The turtle dove case is the largest incident to have hit Europe so far – in Sweden 50 jackdaws were found dead. Italian officials said they expected results from the tests on Monday.

Most of the birds have been found around an industrial estate on the outskirts of Faenza but others have also been found closer to the centre in trees and on roads and pavements.

Massimo Bolognesi, of the local World Wildlife Federation, said: "We first started getting reports on Sunday and since then they have been coming in every day.

"We have collected more than 1,000 turtle doves corpses but there is also the odd pigeon as well and all of them have this blue tint to their beak which could indicate poisoning or hypoxia.

"Tests are being carried out on the bodies by the local forestry commission and we should get the results next week but it's the numbers that make this such a notable event and for the moment it is a mystery."

It appears on the German map, the city has a Bundesliga soccer team and regional train services include it as a destination. It is home to 330,000 inhabitants and one of Germany's 20 major cities.



But according to a group of students in the northern German city of Kiel, Bielefeld not only doesn't exist but its creation and promotion is a disturbing conspiracy to hide a number of (im)possible secrets.



The students from the university of Kiel started to smell a rat after hearing about Bielefeld for as long as they could remember but had never met anyone who had lived there, come from there or even visited the city in the Westphalia region in northwestern Germany. It soon became a topic of discussion between them that maybe the town didn't actually exist.



Historical texts state the official founding of the city of Bielefeld took place in the year 1000. In over a thousand years of existence, Bielefeld looks to have kept itself pretty much to itself, with its main claim to fame coming from Dr. August Oetker, his renowned baking powder and the nationwide food business which developed from it and which still bears his name. But despite this, the Kiel students continued to muse about its existence.



Sudden appearance of city dwellers



After casually voicing concerns, the students began to notice an increase in people claiming to have come from Bielefeld, to have wandered the streets of this mythic location and those who had friends and relatives living there. The students' suspicions were aroused further by the seemingly distant looks and vacant expressions of those making these claims. Had they been manipulated? Had the minds of these people been rewired as some part of a nefarious plan?



Suddenly, the students noticed that a day would not go by without Bielefeld making it into the local and national press. And then there was the official Bielefeld homepage on the Internet. This web site sprang up showing idyllic vistas of the city's avenues and prominent buildings. But there was no solid evidence that these streets and buildings were images of Bielefeld. The students claim these could have been taken anywhere.

According to the students, those who have escaped the city are the lucky ones. Most people who find themselves in the area just off the A2 motorway are abducted and manipulated at the top secret, ultramodern manipulation institution known as the "Bielefeld Center." Those who have got out without being manipulated can give a detailed description of this facility.



There have been a number of reasons given for the lengths that have been taken to hide the area known to most normal humans as Bielefeld.
If that's not enough, the third explanation for the concealment of the real nature of the site proposes that Bielefeld inhabits the ground above a confidential cave system where a sleeping dragon dwells, a beast which will wake on the Dec. 24,

2011. This dragon from the fourth age is currently protected by ancient knights, who keep the beast sedated with mind-altering substances and who receive their orders from extra-terrestrials.


Whether this is all the product of fertile imaginations or an advert for the effects of prolonged drug abuse, one thing is clear. Someone should be looking into the weird goings-on in the university city a few hundred kilometers north of Bielefeld.
